Can you use technology to expand your WHY?

chiropractor computer support

This article by my friend Dr Steve Hoffman (http://www.drstevehoffman.com) is a great testimonial to why chiropractic is so important and more importantly to remind you of the real WHY that you practice.

I had a young mom that I finally convinced to let me check her
9 year old son…he was chemically straightjacketed in the MD’s
attempt to handle his problems with ADHD…and so he was almost
completely docile until one day he asked me,

“Dr. Steve, could what you’re doing make me not get mad?”  When
I asked him what he meant, he explained he was good at making
friends because he would make friends and then someone would
say or do something that would make him mad and there would be
a fight or an argument and he was back to looking for new friends…

And since he had been coming in, his friends were still saying and
doing stupid things…but it wasn’t making him mad.  I answered him
by saying sure and let’s get you checked so you can be even happier.

But on their exit…I asked to speak privately with his Mom.  And I
asked her if she heard what I heard?  She said that he said he wasn’t
getting mad.  When I pushed if she had heard anything else, she said
no.  I then let her know what I heard…

That as a result of her forethought bringing him to the office, he
making relationships that he would have ruined in the past…

…that he would make better relationships as an adult which meant
he would have a better job, career and quality of life by not having
to go from job to job because he was a troublemaker every time
something made him angry…

…that he would wind up with a love relationship sometime in his
future that he wouldn’t ruin the first time something made him mad.

…that his entire future would be as better as it would be if she had
brought him in deaf and he got his hearing back…

and then she started to cry…and then I started to cry…and the tears
were because everything I said was true.

Had this mom not taken the time to invest in her son, she may have had a child that became angry enough to do something unthinkable like the recent tragedy in Connecticut.

In the same way this mom invested in her son, the most successful DC’s also invest in their technology to ensure they don’t have problems that get in the way of providing this great care.

What would happen to your practice if all your database and patient information were wiped out in a disaster?

What if you could add just one tool to your office to help you measure and tracking your marketing and make your office more efficient?

What if added efficiency allowed you to see 10 more patients a day, and one of those patients was the boy above?

Hopefully this expands your WHY even more.

Tell us below how you have expanded your why.
